Anna H. Geerdes- Borderline
GMT
Born in a small town in the Netherlands, Anna H. Geerdes moved to Orkney where she lived for 15 years before studying at Gray's School of Atrt, Aberdeen. She graduated with first class honours in painting and has since achieved various awards- including the RSA landscape award and numerous others. Anna is an artist who delves deep within herself. She explores place and identity, she says 'we are the master controllers over our environment, over the place where we live, our planet, and all needs to be mapped as far as the eye can see'.
In this new exhibition- Borderline- she focuses on borders and boundaries which have a visceral, physical reality, but also a deep symbolic meaning.
This exhibition is hanging in Compass Gallery and is available to view in person until 09/10/21 and on our website: https://compassgallery.co.uk/2015/anna-geerdes-borderline/
