Glasgow Cathedral Conservation Insight Tour
GMT
Join the Conservation Architect for Glasgow Cathedral on a special tour taking in the history and conservation of a Glasgow icon. Find out how we are making sure this 800 year old building lives on long into the future through repair and maintenance and using the same skills and materials our ancestors used. With an opportunity to climb the scaffolding to see conservation work up close!
Making the most of our existing buildings is part of the solution to the climate emergency. Glasgow Cathedral is built with the same materials as many other traditional buildings in Scotland, including 20% of our homes. Learnings from this ancient building can support us with looking after other traditional buildings throughout Scotland, and finding out how we can ensure these buildings last way into the future.
We have two timeslots to choose from: 10:30 - 12:00 (tickets available through Eventbrite) and 13:00 - 14:30 (sold out). Both tours will be exactly the same and are capped at 10 people maximum.
Tickets are free, but booking is essential.
