Immersive Technology & Craft with Carrie Fertig
GMT
In a world already overwhelmed with objects, how does a maker make new work in a sustainable way? Join us with artist Carrie Fertig as she looks at recycling and connection through the material of glass focusing on well being. We'll discuss reuse within the inaugural UNFIX Residency at the Barn and virtual reality augmenting the natural world as part of the Applied Arts Scotland DISTANCE Project.
Carrie Fertig is a flameworked glass-maker and socially engaged interdisciplinary artist working in performance, video, sound, installation, sculpture and virtual reality. Her work explores immersive environments as safe and compelling spaces in which participants can examine difficult aspects of our human experience: dying, forgiveness, and the climate crisis.
