REHABARAMA
CST
REHABARAMA is a single-day service event that brings together local contractors, volunteer groups, and students to perform repairs and maintenance on historic and affordable housing stock in San Antonio. The event aligns with a number of climate action strategies identified in the City's Climate Action & Adaptation Plan, including supporting material reuse and circularity and implementing anti-displacement measures. REHABARAMA also demonstrates the City's commitment to climate equity by respecting and honoring cultural heritage as well as preserving existing affordable housing.
In the spirit of neighborhood revitalization, REHABARAMA focuses on the hands-on preservation trades and emphasizes retention and preservation of original building materials and architectural character. By providing much needed repair and maintenance work, volunteers have the opportunity to help a neighbor in need and experience the rewarding, visible impacts from a hard day’s work.
