Scotland's Community Heritage Conversations - Heritage and Climate Change
GMT
Scotland’s Community Heritage Conversations is a new series of digital events to bring together volunteers, community groups and heritage professionals, providing them with a stage to share experiences, inspire and support one another with ideas and plans, and to celebrate the places that matter to us all. The conversations are delivered through a partnership of Historic Environment Scotland, Archaeology Scotland, The Chartered Institute for Archaeologists, Northlight Heritage, the Scottish Community Heritage Alliance and the Scottish Council on Archives. Scotland's Community Heritage Conversation #8, will be a half-day event focusing on Heritage and Climate Change. We are already aware that our historic environment is facing a number of climate change related challenges and this session will focus on activities already underway to address local community heritage issues affected by this. While only a coordinated global efforts can help address the overall threat of climate change, it is also important to consider how local increases in resilience at threatened sites may limit these pressures and we will try to identify issues, adaptations and mitigation against climate change impacts on heritage assets.
