The Circular Economy and the Historic Environment Exhibition
GMT
Explore how the historic environment can support a transition to a circular economy in Scotland.
Moving towards a circular economy is a key part of the solution to the climate emergency. It involves shifting us to a society where we design out waste and pollution, and products and materials are kept in use for as long as possible. But this is not a new concept. We already have a rich history in Scotland of building things to last and our historic built environment stands as a testament to this.
Visit our exhibition to find out more about the skills and materials required to keep our historic environment in good repair and how this can create green jobs. Discover how traditional materials, once used throughout Scotland, can support low carbon construction today. And discover the design secrets of building to last, and ensuring our existing built environment is energy efficient and valued way into the future.
Tickets are free, but booking is essential. The exhibition will be open from Monday 1 - Tuesday 2 November, on Thursday 4 November, and then Tuesday 9 - Sunday 14 November.
Please note that opening times on Tuesday 2 and Thursday 4 November will be 11:00 - 14:00. Opening times on Sunday 14 November will be 13:00 - 16:00.
