The Perthshire Seed Library Launch
GMT
As part of the Climate Perth and Kinross programme, Culture Perth and Kinross Libraries and Perthshire Organic Gardners will launch the Perthshire Seed Library with a free talk from Sinéad Fortune of the organisation, Seed Sovereignty.
Sinéad is the programme manager at Seed Sovereignty and has a background in food security, community empowerment and social enterprise. Sinéad’s previous work has been in community-based food production and sustainable food innovation. Her talk will focus on the need and drive for saving seed in a global context and a local perspective.
What are Seed Libraries?
Seed Libraries are an exciting new way of enabling communities to share and save native and heirloom seeds. Come along to the launch of the Perthshire Seed Library and find how you can join the library, support healthier soils, respond proactively to climate change and build a community of fellow gardeners.
